ClearRecord Driving LLC ("ClearRecord," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it. By using our platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We collect the following categories of information: (a) Account information: your full name, email address, and password when you register. (b) Enrollment information: the state in which you are enrolling, your reason for taking the course, and any citation or court information you provide. (c) Identity and driving information: your driver's license number (DLN) and date of birth, which are required by state law for DMV reporting purposes. (d) Payment information: processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. (e) Course activity: time spent in the course, quiz and exam results, progress milestones, and session logs, which are required by state regulations. (f) Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, and page interactions for security and quality purposes.
We use the information we collect to: deliver and administer your driver improvement course; verify your identity as required by state law; issue your certificate of completion; electronically report your course completion to the applicable state DMV or designated reporting authority; process your payment; communicate with you about your enrollment, certificate, or account; respond to support requests; improve the platform and course content; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only as follows: (a) State DMVs and reporting systems: your name, DLN, date of birth, and completion data are transmitted to the applicable state authority upon course completion, as required by law. (b) Payment processor: Stripe receives payment information to process transactions. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your data. (c) Service providers: we may engage third-party vendors who assist with hosting, email delivery, or platform operations. These parties are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes. (d) Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
Your driver's license number and date of birth are collected solely for the purpose of fulfilling state DMV reporting requirements upon course completion. This information is transmitted to the applicable state authority and is not used for marketing, sold to third parties, or retained beyond what is required by applicable state record retention rules.
We retain your account and enrollment records for a minimum of three years following course completion, or longer if required by the laws of the state in which you completed your course. You may request deletion of your account at any time; however, records required for DMV compliance purposes may be retained regardless of deletion requests.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage of sensitive fields, and access controls limiting who within our organization can access personal data. While no system is completely secure, we take reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, save your course progress, and analyze platform usage. Strictly necessary cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. You may disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may affect your experience.
ClearRecord is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days. Note that some information may be retained as required by state law regardless of deletion requests.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
